Your writing is yours. Always.
Typeloom never stores your projects or content. Your writing stays on your device or goes directly to the cloud provider you choose. Our servers are never in the middle.
Built on trust, not promises
Privacy isn't a feature we added. It's how the architecture works.
We never store your content
Typeloom does not store your manuscripts, documents, notes, or any content you write or upload on our servers. Your work lives locally on your device or goes directly to the cloud provider you choose. Never through us.
Your work belongs to you
Everything you create in Typeloom is yours. We claim no ownership, no license to read, analyze or monetize your writing. You are the sole owner of your creative work, always.
Minimal data, maximum privacy
We collect only the account and service data needed to keep Typeloom running: your email, preferences, and integration credentials. Nothing more.
Privacy by design
Our architecture is intentionally built so that private document content never passes through our backend. This isn’t a policy decision. It’s how the software works.
How your data flows
Understanding exactly where your content goes, and where it doesn't.
You write in Typeloom
Your content is created and processed entirely in your browser. Typeloom works as a local-first application. Nothing leaves your machine unless you tell it to.
Saved where you choose
Choose local storage (your file system) or a cloud provider like Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box. That's where your files live, under your control.
Typeloom's role
Our server handles your account, settings, and OAuth credentials for cloud connections. We never see, store, or process your document content.
Our promise to you
Every word you write, every note you take, every piece of research you gather in Typeloom belongs to you, not to us. We will never claim ownership of your content, never train models on your writing, and never monetize your creative work. This isn't just policy. It's the architecture.

1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to all Typeloom websites, applications, accounts, customer-support interactions, and related services.
It explains how Typeloom handles personal data relating to account holders, prospective users, and visitors.
2. The Typeloom content model: what makes us different
Typeloom is designed so that private document content is stored locally on your device or in storage providers that you choose and control, never on the Typeloom backend.
This means Typeloom does not store the text of your manuscripts, notes, research, or any files you upload. Our servers are not involved in persisting your creative work.
If you choose a cloud provider (Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box), your project files travel directly between your browser and that provider. Typeloom facilitates the connection through an OAuth broker but does not retain or inspect the content that passes through.
The Typeloom backend handles account data, service metadata, authentication state, and integration credentials. That's it.
3. Information Typeloom collects
We collect only what is needed to operate the service:
- Account information: name, email address, country, preferred writing language, authentication status, and settings.
- Service metadata: connected providers, workspace preferences, recent-project references, and timestamps for account features.
- Technical & device data: browser type, operating system, IP address, device identifiers, crash diagnostics, and log data.
- Usage analytics: feature interactions, navigation events, and performance measurements, collected in aggregate and de-identified form.
- Integration credentials: OAuth tokens, scopes, and refresh status for cloud services you connect.
- Support communications: messages and materials you choose to share with Typeloom support.
- Billing information: handled through third-party payment processors if paid plans are available.
4. How we use your information
- Provide, secure, maintain, and improve the Typeloom service.
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and keep sessions secure.
- Enable cloud-storage integrations you choose to authorize.
- Personalize settings, language preferences, and service configuration.
- Measure product performance and understand usage trends using aggregate or de-identified data.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect Typeloom and its users.
- Send service-related notices (verification, password reset, security alerts).
- Send marketing communications only where permitted by law and only if you opt in.
5. What Typeloom does NOT do with your data
- We do not store, read, index, or analyze the text of your documents.
- We do not train AI models on your writing.
- We do not sell or share your personal data for advertising purposes.
- We do not monitor individual writing activity or expose private content in admin tools.
- We do not use your creative output as a product or revenue source.
6. Legal bases for processing (GDPR)
Where applicable, Typeloom relies on: performance of a contract (account and product functionality), legitimate interests (service security and improvement), legal obligation (compliance matters), and consent (optional marketing).
7. Sharing and disclosure
Typeloom may share personal data with service providers (hosting, security, analytics, payment) under appropriate contractual protections.
We may disclose information to comply with law, respond to legal process, or protect Typeloom and its users.
In a merger, acquisition, or sale, personal data may transfer subject to applicable law.
We do not sell the private text of your documents. Period.
8. International transfers
Typeloom and its providers may process data outside your country. Where required by law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Retention
We keep personal data only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.
Because we do not store your document content on our servers, there is no document text to retain or delete on our side.
10. Security
Typeloom uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, encryption, and pseudonymization where appropriate.
No system is 100 % secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but the architecture deliberately minimizes what we hold.
11. Your rights and choices
- Access, update, correct, export, or delete your account information.
- Exercise rights under GDPR or other applicable privacy laws (access, deletion, rectification, restriction, portability, objection).
- Unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
- Connect or disconnect third-party cloud services at will.
12. Children's privacy
Typeloom is not intended for children below the minimum age required to consent to digital services in their jurisdiction.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the service or by email.
14. Contact
