Get Started

Typeloom is easiest to understand when you think of it as a project workspace rather than a single document editor.

lightbulb The Typeloom model

  • create_new_folder A project is the container for one writing job, for example a novel, article, script, or school paper.
  • folder_open The binder on the left holds your project structure. It can contain folders, documents, and research files.
  • article The editor is where you write or revise the selected document.
  • grid_view The corkboard helps you plan documents visually.
  • construction The tools drawer adds project-specific helpers such as chapter targets, reference tools, or screenplay panels.
  • sync Storage and sync decide where your project lives.

The shortest path to a working project

  1. Create a project and choose the template that matches your work.
  2. Pick a storage location that fits your workflow.
  3. Build or adjust your binder structure.
  4. Write in the editor and use the corkboard when you need a planning view.
  5. Enable the tools that help with your format.
  6. Export a document, a folder, or the written project when you are ready to deliver.

Who should read which page

  • Read Create Your First Project if you are starting from scratch.
  • Read Navigation and Views if you want a guided tour of the interface.
  • Jump to Workspace if you already have a project and want to learn specific areas in more depth.

Example workflow

A novelist might start with the Novel template, keep chapters in the binder and research material in separate folders, use the corkboard for chapter order, turn on Chapter Targets for progress, and export the manuscript to PDF or EPUB when ready.
