Search and Replace

Typeloom includes project-aware search so revision work stays inside the app.

search Search scope

You can search:

  • the current document
  • all documents and research in the project

description What search results show

Results are grouped by item and include:

  • the document or file title
  • a breadcrumb path from the binder
  • hit count
  • snippets with the matched text highlighted

find_replace Replace behavior

Typeloom supports:

  • replacing in the current document
  • replacing all matches in the active scope

This is useful for terminology changes, character renames, or consistent phrasing updates.

Example workflows

Rename a recurring term

Search the full project for an old product name or place name, review the grouped hits, and then replace across the project if the change is safe.

Tighten one chapter

Switch search scope to the current document and replace repeated filler phrases only in that draft.

Recommendation

Use full-project search for discovery first, and then switch to replace only after you are sure the matches represent the same concept.
