Import and Export Overview

Typeloom supports both ends of the writing process:

  • bringing outside material into the project
  • exporting finished work out of the project

upload_file Import

Import is designed for cases where existing material already lives in another file format. You can bring that content into the binder and decide how the imported material should be split.

download Export

Export is designed for delivery. You can export a single document, the current folder, the written project, or a Typeloom project archive for backup and transfer.

lightbulb Recommended approach

  • upload_file Use import when you want Typeloom to become the main workspace for existing material.
  • Use research files when you only need the external file as reference.
  • download Use export when the draft is ready for review, delivery, backup, or further editing elsewhere.
